We have developed designs for double ended Daysailers and Launches (ideal as a Thames River launch) – the Devon Darlin’ 18’ & 24’ inspired by the 1750s – 1840s ships’ longboats/beach boats and the old British Naval 2 in 1s.

You have the chance to personalise your boat by having a choice of rigs: English Lug, Gunter, Sprit Main and Lug Mizzen, English Gaff Cutter and French Lug.

We build our boats traditionally rather than strip plank and epoxy glass sheath as we would like them to outlast us. We are building them in either clinker or carvel planking with a choice of larch, mahogany or oak. The keel and frames will be oak with elm ribs, all will be copper and silicone bronze fastened. This means the boat can be properly maintained and will become a future classic to hand down for the next generation.

The Devon Darlin’ 18 & 24’ are available with a choice of inboard engines (Diesel or Electric). She is ideal as a Thames River launch and harbour launch. We have designed space for life’s luxuries including a Porta Potti, portable fridge, camping stoves, modern Bluetooth enabled navigation instruments, autohelm and USB charging points inside lockers, they even have an electric anchor windless within the locker. All these luxury items have been designed to hide behind panels so when not in use you can enjoy the simple traditional sailing experience!
